The Selway Reserve Reserve
Bitterroot Range · Montana · Est. MCMXCVIII

Where the glacier
keeps its silence

A private retreat above the treeline — suites drawn from stone and light, evenings composed with quiet intent, and a horizon that answers to no one but you.

The Estate

A house built into the mountain itself

Set two thousand metres above the valley floor, The Selway Reserve descends the northern face in a series of terraced levels, each cut into the granite so that the range remains untouched. Larch, glass, and cold-rolled steel gather the last of the daylight and hold it well past dusk.

  • Nine terraced levels following the natural fall of the ridge
  • A cantilevered observation deck open to the full arc of the sky
  • Powered entirely by on-site hydro and geothermal reserves

Suites & Residences

Rooms that hold the light

Every residence is oriented to the western ridgeline, its walls of pale quartzite warming as the afternoon turns. Hand-finished oak, wool woven in the valley below, and glass that vanishes at the touch of a switch — the interior recedes so the landscape can arrive.

  • Forty-two suites and six ridge-line penthouses
  • Private glass terraces with radiant stone floors
  • A dedicated butler assigned to every residence
The Glacier Baths

Waters drawn from stone and snow

Meltwater gathered high on the range is warmed by the mountain's own heat and carried through a sequence of open-air pools. The ritual moves from cold to warm to still — a slow unwinding beneath a sky uninterrupted by anything at all.

  • Three tiered mineral pools open to the elements
  • Botanical treatments blended from alpine flora
  • A snow-room and cedar sauna sequence at first light
The Casino

Evenings that unfold slowly

After the last of the light leaves the range, the lower salon opens. It is less a room than a mood — low amber lamps, attended tables, and the murmur of a good evening finding its rhythm. A quiet part of a longer night, never its whole purpose.

  • Eighteen attended tables across two panelled salons
  • Members' rooms reserved with a dedicated host
  • A sommelier's cellar and an open cigar terrace
